Yearbook Cover · template gallery · shipped, staff-only cover designer
Cover template gallery -- a real starting point for your wrap.
Every cover here is built from the same shipped model your school's cover designer already runs: one front panel, one back panel, and a spine, composed from photo, color, and text blocks over a four-role palette (base, accent, ink, paper) so your school's colors carry the whole wrap. Pick a global gallery template or start from your school's own saved design, then customize every block yourself -- nothing here is an AI-generated cover, and nothing here shows a real student photo.
You are viewing the template gallery at yearbookcover.art. This page is a sub-page of the yearbookcover.art overview. Money is honest-off here: no pricing, no checkout, and no card charged on this page -- every "customize" link opens the real, authenticated cover designer.
What is actually in this gallery
The gallery your adviser account sees is a curated set of global, read-only starting-point templates alongside every design your own school has saved -- the same list the cover designer's studio view loads. Each template is a small document: a front panel, a back panel, and a spine, each holding a stack of blocks (a photo, a solid color, or text bound to your book's title or subtitle), colored through a four-role palette -- base, accent, ink, and paper -- rather than one-off hex values, so swapping a palette re-themes the whole wrap at once.
We are not going to invent a template count for you. The gallery grows as the platform curates it and as your own school saves new designs; nothing on this page claims a fixed catalog size.
Illustrative style directions
The cards below are illustrative style directions built from the real palette-role and panel model above -- CSS mockups, not photos and not a fixed catalog. Three are the base editor's free style directions (included with every plan, forever). Three name real, shipped premium packs from the platform's curated catalog: browsing any premium pack is free; applying one to your school is a plan-gated action (a 402 when your plan does not include it), never a separate storefront checkout.

How a template becomes your printed cover
1. Pick or duplicate a template
Start from a global gallery template or duplicate one of your school's own saved designs, then edit the copy freely -- duplicating never edits the shared original.
2. Compose front, back, and spine
Place photo, color, and text blocks on each panel; every frame is fractional (0 to 1) inside the panel, so the layout holds at any print size. Text blocks can bind to your book's actual title or subtitle so a rename updates the cover automatically.
3. See a true-to-scale spine estimate
The spine width is computed from your book's real page count and binding (saddle, perfect, or case) -- never stored as a fixed number, always relabeled an estimate, with a note pointing you at your print vendor's own spine calculator before you submit.
4. Preview, link, and export
A preview render goes through the platform's real assemble-preflight-render pipeline -- a preview URL is only ever saved from a successful render, never fabricated. Link the finished template to your book and, if you choose, flip on the buyer cover-choice switch so a parent browsing your book's gallery sees it as an option. Print export runs through the SAME pipeline as the rest of your book -- no separate export tool, no format mismatch.
Binding-aware spine math: an estimated 0.002252in of paper bulk per interior page (perfect binding), plus a 0.25in board/hinge allowance for case binding; saddle-stitched books have no flat spine panel. Always an estimate -- verify against your print vendor's own spine calculator before submitting.
What is free, and what is a premium pack
We are not going to invent a commercial tier name for this page. The real model is plan-tier based: the base editor, the base template gallery, palette theming, the spine estimate, preview render, and print export are free with every plan, forever -- that is a stated platform doctrine, not a promotional offer. Premium packs (curated theme, font, and surface-system packs, three of which are shown above) are a separate, curated, a-la-carte catalog layered on top: browsing is always free, and applying a pack to your school is a plan-gated action available on the paid studio tier. There is no separate cart or per-item checkout for a premium pack -- it is an entitlement your plan either includes or does not.
Staff-only, consent-gated, never a fabricated AI cover
The cover designer is a staff-only surface: only an adviser, co-adviser, or school/district admin can open it, and no minor-held role can reach it -- that check runs deny-first, before anything else. Any photo you place on a cover panel already lives in your school's existing consent-gated photo Library; this gallery adds no new consent mechanism of its own and claims none.
No AI generates a cover for you, here or anywhere in the shipped product today. Every template on this page is a starting point you compose yourself, block by block, with your own photos, your own colors, and your own words. Nothing on this page is, or shows, a real student photo -- every preview above is a CSS-built palette-and-geometry mockup.
Common questions
Can I check out and buy a template right on this page?
No. Money is honest-off on yearbookcover.art itself -- this marketing page holds no cookie or session, has no account or live checkout, and uses no third-party advertising or tracking scripts; there is no live checkout here. Basic short-lived operational logs may record page requests. Every customize link opens the real, authenticated cover designer, where the whole feature actually runs.
What is a premium pack, exactly?
A curated add-on catalog (theme, font, and surface-system packs) layered on top of the free base editor. Browsing the catalog is free; applying a pack to your school is a plan-gated action, not a purchase you complete on this page -- if your plan does not include it, applying is blocked until you upgrade.
Is the spine width shown here exact?
No, and we say so throughout: it is a computed estimate from your page count and binding, always labeled an estimate, with a note pointing you at your print vendor's own spine calculator before you submit a job.
Does AI generate any part of the cover?
No. There is no AI cover-generation anywhere in the shipped product today. Every block on every panel is placed and edited by you.
Will I see a real student's photo on this page?
No, never. Every preview card on this page is a CSS-only palette-and-geometry mockup, not a photo. Any real student photo used in an actual cover already lives in your school's existing consent-gated photo Library and is placed there by staff, not shown here.
Who can actually use the cover designer?
Staff only -- an adviser, co-adviser, or school/district admin. No minor-held role can reach it; that check runs deny-first, ahead of anything else.

What is built, and what this page will not pretend
The cover-template gallery, the front/back/spine panel model, palette-role theming, the binding-aware spine estimate, the preview render, and the print export are all built and running today, not early access. The base editor and base template gallery are free with every plan, forever, by platform doctrine. Premium theme/font/surface packs are a real, curated, plan-gated catalog, never a per-item cart or checkout. Money is honest-off on this page itself: no pricing, no checkout, no card charged, no subscription -- every customize link opens the real, authenticated app. No AI generates a cover, here or anywhere in the shipped product today.
